So what you are saying is that when a warrior activates a skill that no effect shows up? I think things are fine the way they are.

What are you talking about? There are quiet a few warrior skills that have the sparkle effect. Things like Balanced Stance, Enraged Charge, or Deadly Reposte, to name a few.

2 days ago there was a thread about INCREASING the amount of animations in skills. Some people aren't happy either way, its called tastes and styles. Some people want different things then others (super realism in fighting like in some gladiator arena vs jumping up fifty 50 into the air to shot lightening bolts out of your sword). I think what a.net has in the game currently is a nice balance of the two.

Visual cues are important to playing the game, and many people rely on them.
Sure, ANet could put a user option to turn them off, but the time and labor involved to code that could be spent elsewhere considering the cost/benefit ratio.

I would say this should be turned off only for the people who can barely run the game so it won't lag as bad, so it would in the options menu.
but anyway

How would we know to spike a frenzied warrior if frenzy didn't sparkle?

Or with healing sig. The animations are fine, if you dont like them, turn the graphics options down.

You can't turn the graphics options down, unless you mean to turn down the resolution so low you can't see spit.
Regarding this issue, I think the graphics are pretty. Sorry, but I shall not sign this.

I'm not too familiar with the details of graphic settings, but isn't there already particle effect category in it?
If not perhaps there should be. They are all particle effects and probably adding an option to simply disable those types of shaders could be done up by a game hacker in their basement in a couple of hours. lol

You could use the enemies skill activation display when you target
Things are fine the way they are in my opinion. If anything there should be an option to turn the animations 'off' for those with lower specs.

Yes, you could use the skill activation display, however the 'sparkles' allow you to see what skills are being used without targeting a foe once you learn what they look like.

Recognizing the activation Sound and Graphic of skills is part of learning to play the game.
Taking them out of the game is not a good idea.

yea i have to say i have been playing for almost 2 years and have learned to watch multiple chars and have learned all cues to the skills which makes me a valuable player... to remove this would be removing a type of stratgy and opting to set experienced players farther back giving no benifit to player who have played for a while over compleate noobs... i know there is supposed to be a balance but come on you need to throw experienced players some kind of bone
